Shallows and Depths - Dance Legend Miracle

Look at this beauty!

[Dance Legend Miracle]
This is Dance Legend's Miracle which I thought was a color changing polish, except wait, it's also a thermal polish! But I didn't know that! So I'll have to dig it out to review again because it apparently turns an entirely different colour under the sun.

Miracle is a pale teal when warm, and a brighter medium blue when cold, with silver flakies. The colour change is pretty clear and they're gorgeous shades. I'm looking forward to trying the polish out again and getting the change in colour under the sun too!

Fantastic Fancy - Dance Legend Step in Style Color LE01, Hit the Bottle To Have and To Gold, Born Pretty BP-L007

Gosh, I was searching through our posts to see the last time I used this particular stamping plate that I'm about to show you... and it was back in 2015! Good times, good times...

[To the left, to the left...]
What I discovered this time is that even with the aid of a clear stamper, I can be pretty abysmal at centering symmetrical designs, oh dear...

[Base: Dance Legend Step in Style Color LE01 (2 coats)]
My base from last week - Dance Legend Step in Style Color LE01, a gorgeous green jelly with loads of green and gold shimmer. Ah, so pretty~

[Base: Dance Legend Step in Style Color LE01 (2 coats);
Stamping: Hit the Bottle To Have and To Gold; Born Pretty BP-L007]
Using Hit the Bottle To Have and To Gold, a rich gold shimmer stamping polish, I picked one of the many intricate designs from Born Pretty stamping plate BP-L007 to stamp over my base shade.

Pretty happy with how this turned out! I recently attended an ethnic South Asian wedding and goodness, that was such a treat for my magpie eyes, so this was a bit inspired by all the sparklies I saw there!

Misty Caverns - Dance Legend Ashes to Ashes

I can't believe I haven't posted this before. It's from months ago!

[Dance Legend Ashes to Ashes]
This is Dance Legend Ashes to Ashes, a mid-gray creme polish with flakies and holo microglitter.

[Bottle to nail: Dance Legend Ashes to Ashes (2 coats)]
I've always said I loved their square bottles, makes it so easy to open.

[Dance Legend Ashes to Ashes]
You can see the ghostly flakies clearly and the second one was taken slightly blurry on purpose so you could see the holos better.

Overall, I love it. An interesting colour with many facets to the nail polish!

Glimmering Green - Dance Legend Step in Style Color LE01

I have such a gorgeous polish to show you today - the photos don't do this justice!

[Bottle to nail: Dance Legend Step in Style Color LE01 (2 coats)]
This is Dance Legend Step in Style Color LE01 - green jelly base with generous green and gold shimmer all throughout.

[2 coats: Dance Legend Step in Style Color LE01]
I used two coats for a beautiful even finish. This one has a slight tendency to flood the nail, so try to adjust the amount of polish on your brush to compensate. I'd recommend two thinner coats rather than one thick one although you could probably work with either.

[2 coats: Dance Legend Step in Style Color LE01]
In the bottle, there is a hint of blue in the base, but on the nails it's a vibrant christmas green and so gloriously sparkly! I think the jelly nature of the base just allows a depth of shimmer that you wouldn't other wise get.

[2 coats: Dance Legend Step in Style Color LE01]
I suspect a combination of a blue-tinted base (which is why my photos look blue-r) and the golden shimmer cancel out to get a nice neutral bright green in person. I just can't resist adding greens to my collection and this one is a real dazzler!

Stampede - Born Pretty Throne, Western Memory - L001, Dance Legend Baikal

Time for some stamping!

[Stampede]

I stamped over Dance Legend's Baikal, reviewed in my last post here, with Born Pretty's Throne, a black stamping nail polish from Born Pretty's White Night series. I used patterns from  Born Pretty's Western Memory - L001 stamping plate.

[Born Pretty Western Memory - L001 stamping plate]
[Born Pretty Throne]
I quite like the packaging for the stamping plate and stamping polish. Everything looks very elegant.

[Stamping polish: Born Pretty Throne;

Even on my very long nails, the pattern was large enough for full coverage.

I broke a nail on my other hand, so the nails are shorter.

Overall, this is a great stamping nail polish! I've been looking for a black stamping polish replacement and this is pretty fantastic. Transferring the pattern from stamping plate to nail was easy and turned out pretty well. The stamping plate also produced clear sharp patterns. The patterns were easy to make out and look pretty nice.

Deep Lagoon - Dance Legend 73 Baikal

Hello, hello, here's a beauty that I have on today!

[Dance Legend 73 Baikal]
This is Dance Legend 73 Baikal from their Anna Gorelova catalogue. It's a gorgeous purple nail polish with an intense blue shimmer and a scattering of holo micro flakies. Because of the blue shimmer, I would say the overall effect is that the nail polish looks more blue than it does purple. It was opaque in two coats and easy to apply. The shrinkage was due to my Seche Vite quick dry coat alas.

Hearts on Sleeve - Dance Legend Danger Danger, Hit the Bottle Snowed In, Born Pretty Valentines' Day L008

I have a few lovely stamping plates from Born Pretty to review, so here's the first one...

[Hearts abound]
Haha, red + hearts...! Nothing too innovative here but it's a classic combination for a reason!

[Bottle to nail: Dance Legend Danger Danger (2 coats)]
My base shade from last week is Dance Legend Danger Danger, a raspberry-tinged red scattered holo.

[Born Pretty Valentine's Day L008]
The plate I'm reviewing today is Born Pretty Valentine's Day L008. Look at all the adorable patterns on this plate! I ended up using the one on the bottom left.

[Base: Dance Legend Danger Danger (2 coats); Stamping: Hit the Bottle Snowed In;
Plate: Born Pretty Valentine's Day L008]
Using a white creme stamping polish (Hit the Bottle Snowed In), I stamped that pattern on. These stamping patterns are fairly large which is great for wider/longer nails. My nails are pretty narrow but currently my natural nails are quite long, so I got a decent amount of hearts on!

[Base: Dance Legend Danger Danger (2 coats); Stamping: Hit the Bottle Snowed In;
Plate: Born Pretty Valentine's Day L008]
I'm pretty happy with this. It was certainly a gentle way to ease back into regular manicures!

Once again you can find this plate here. As always, our code above will give you 10% off full priced items at Born Pretty.

Stop Look Go - Dance Legend Danger Danger

Gosh, it's been a while! Life got a bit crazy there and I had bare nails for weeks (gasp!). But here we go again... =)

[Bottle to nail: Dance Legend Danger Danger (2 coats)]
As usual, whenever I need to get back into the swing of things, I go for a nice red polish to pep up my nails. This one is Danger Danger from Dance Legend, a red shimmer with large scattered holo particles.

[2 coats: Dance Legend Danger Danger]
Great formula as I've come to expect from Dance Legend. These pics show two coats - dries fairly quickly and applies evenly.

[2 coats: Dance Legend Danger Danger]
I've been on the lookout for a nice bright neutral red holo but for some reason I keep collecting ones that are just the slightest bit off. This one pulls slightly darker in real life than in these photos, and as you can tell, it's a bit more raspberry than a true red.

[2 coats: Dance Legend Danger Danger]
Still a gorgeous polish though, and even though the holo particles give it a bit of sparkle, it's not over the top rainbows so it makes for a pretty worksafe polish in my opinion!

Flutterby Fancy - Dance Legend Stratus Quo, Born Pretty BP-L088, Hit the Bottle Whiskey Latte

Continuing on from my last mani - I as usual ended up stamping over it...

[Flippety-flap]
...I'm really not too sure about this colour combination - I just couldn't figure out what shade to use that wasn't silver or gold because I use those far too often!

[Bottle to nail: Dance Legend Stratus Quo (2 coats)]
Anyway, my base from last week was Dance Legend Stratus Quo - a dusty cornflower blue creme with fine holographic particles.

[Base: Dance Legend Stratus Quo (2 coats);
Stamping: Born Pretty BP-L088, Hit the Bottle Whiskey Latte]
I used the butterfly pattern from Born Pretty plate BP-L088 and a latte/cream shade from Hit the Bottle called Whiskey Latte.

[Base: Dance Legend Stratus Quo (2 coats);
Stamping: Born Pretty BP-L088, Hit the Bottle Whiskey Latte]
It's cute enough, but nothing outstanding... Oh well!! I will try to plan these things better next time... =)

Dancing Cloud - Dance Legend Stratus Quo

I'm back after a bit of a break, things have been crazy busy and I haven't been doing my nails (gasp, I know!)

[Bottle to nail: Dance Legend Stratus Quo (2 coats)]
At any rate, I have this lovely shade on now - this is Dance Legend Stratus Quo. What a great name! It's a cornflower blue creme with fine scattered holo particles, giving it a very delicate look.

[2 coats: Dance Legend Stratus Quo]
Formula was excellent as always - I used two coats here but with such short nails I could probably have done with one. The holo is not very obvious but adds just a little bit of sparkle for interest.

[2 coats: Dance Legend Stratus Quo]
Overall, a lovely muted shade which I'm tempted to call worksafe? Maybe my standards are skewed!

Space Cowboy - Dance Legend Night Ranger

Here's a polish from a collection that I quite like from Dance Legend. In fact, most of their polishes are winners!

[Bottle to nail: Dance Legend Night Ranger (2 coats)]
This one is called Night Ranger, from the Wow Prism collection. It's a lovely medium blue shade with large-ish scatter holographic particles.

[2 coats: Dance Legend Night Ranger]
I think scattered holo polishes can look a bit childish sometimes (maybe??) but all the ones from this range have not given me that impression at all! I think because the base is slightly jelly-ish so you also get that depth in the holo particles, and it tints the particles slightly towards the base shade rather than in-your-face silver holo.

[2 coats: Dance Legend Night Ranger]
Don't get me wrong, stick this in full sunlight and the rainbows definitely come out to play!

[2 coats: Dance Legend Night Ranger]
These photos are two coats, great formula and dry time and completely smooth finish. I'm pretty happy, as I'm sure you can tell!

Confetti - Dance Legend Step LE-07, Sally Hansen Pacific Blue

It's been awhile since I've gone full glitter so I had a go again.

[Glitter Party!]
This is Step LE-07 from Dance Legend, which is a bottle full of glitter, painted against a base coat of Sally Hansen's Pacific Blue, which is a beautiful royal blue creme.

[Top coat: Dance Legend's Step LE-07
Base coat: Sally Hansen's Pacific Blue]
Step LE-07 is a mix of textured silver holo hex glitter, and smaller pink and blue hex glitter. I have to say, the textured silver holo hex glitter is a little weird and distracting among the explosion of glitter. Step LE-07 is packed to the rafters with glitter, so you don't have to go fishing for glitter at all. Just one or two coats to get the above effect.
