Witch's Brew - Emily de Molly The Eight Letter

Here's a gift from EV, given back in March, that I'm just cracking open now!

[Emily de Molly The Eight Letter]

This is Emily de Molly's The Eight Letter, a nail polish with a purple base and a brilliant green-orange duochrome shimmer. There's a scatter of pink-green glitter as well in the nail polish. My camera didn't capture the orange shimmer very well, but isn't the green brilliant here?

[Emily de Molly The Eight Letter]
I really love the colour. It's witchy and pretty! The formula is thin and builds up quickly, fully opaque by two/three coats.

Space Cowboy - Dance Legend Night Ranger

Here's a polish from a collection that I quite like from Dance Legend. In fact, most of their polishes are winners!

[Bottle to nail: Dance Legend Night Ranger (2 coats)]
This one is called Night Ranger, from the Wow Prism collection. It's a lovely medium blue shade with large-ish scatter holographic particles.

[2 coats: Dance Legend Night Ranger]
I think scattered holo polishes can look a bit childish sometimes (maybe??) but all the ones from this range have not given me that impression at all! I think because the base is slightly jelly-ish so you also get that depth in the holo particles, and it tints the particles slightly towards the base shade rather than in-your-face silver holo.

[2 coats: Dance Legend Night Ranger]
Don't get me wrong, stick this in full sunlight and the rainbows definitely come out to play!

[2 coats: Dance Legend Night Ranger]
These photos are two coats, great formula and dry time and completely smooth finish. I'm pretty happy, as I'm sure you can tell!

Bikini Bottom - Missha GR002, Hit the Bottle Spun Gold, Born Pretty BP-L013

I have kinda been obsessed with the idea of going to the beach lately. I thought it was finally warming up here in Sydney, but the weather is just so unpredictable!

[Sea, sand, surf!]
So here is an itsy bitsy polka dotty mani to help with the sun and sea cravings!

[Bottle to nail: Missha GR002 (2 coats)]
My base from last week, Missha GR002 a sea green creme rescued from the bin with a bit of polish thinner. The lighting has changed slightly, but I swear the colour has become greener on my nails with time!

[Base: Missha GR002 (2 coats); Stamping: Hit the Bottle Spun Gold;
Plate: Born Pretty BP-L013]
Using the simple polka dot design from Born Pretty plate BP-L013, I stamped this design using Hit the Bottle Spun Gold. I think I use this color combination quite a bit, but I just love the look of it!

[Base: Missha GR002 (2 coats); Stamping: Hit the Bottle Spun Gold;
Plate: Born Pretty BP-L013]
I think it'd be even more eye-catching with larger polka dots, but this was the only polka dot stamping design I had, can you believe that! I also didn't want to use a dotting tool as I wanted it nice and regular. I'm still pretty happy with how this turned out!

Hot Buttons - Ulta3 Tahiti, neon studs

It's been awhile since I played around with little nail arty stuff so here we go!

With Ulta3's Tahiti - a neon orange creme polish - as a base, I decided to whip out some neon yellow and green nail studs, and apply them in alternating colours. I didn't do anything too fancy, just created a little bit of a step look. I rather like the resulting splashes of colour!

Save the Seas - Missha GR002

I think I mentioned that I'd done a big spring clean of my polish collection recently. It was easy to put away those I wasn't interested in... a bit harder when it came to polishes that I liked, but had gone gluggy... So instead, I went and found some polish thinner and decided to see if I could save them!

[Bottle to nail: Missha GR002 (2 coats)]
This is one of the success stories - Missha GR002 - the label suggests it is a green polish, and it is, but more of a sea green. I bought this aaaaggggeessss ago, but it was already a fairly thick formula (but lovely pigmentation) so polish tended to collect along the rim and inside of the cap.

What happens is then the bottle doesn't seal as tight when you close it, so more of the solvent evaporates and you end up with a thickened polish.

[2 coats: Missha GR002]
I found that thinner works really well with creme polishes so this worked wonderfully. Just stuck a few drops (maybe more...) in and shook/rolled the bottle about to mix it up. Check the viscosity, and repeat if required.

[2 coats: Missha GR002]
I'm really happy that I got to save this shade - this is two coats. It dried slightly matte which I can't remember anymore if that was what the original formula did. But a nice layer of topcoat fixed that right up.

Proud to be Loud - Ulta3 Tahiti

The weather is still a little dreary, so I thought I would go for bright and cheery.

[Ulta3 Tahiti]
This is Ulta3's Tahiti, which is a neon orange creme polish. The photos aren't exactly right; Tahiti is definitely brighter and almost has a pink-orange hue to it compared to what you see in these photos.

[Ulta3 Tahiti]
I did apply a quick dry top coat, which is why the nail polish looks extra glossy. There's nothing really to fault with Tahiti. It's a lovely bright nail polish that cheers me up. :)

Spring Retro - Rimmel Orangina, Hit the Bottle Snowed In, Born Pretty BP-L015

Who else is looking forward to spring? Only a few more weeks to go!

[Happy print]
I was inspired by the cute print on the lid of Rimmel Orangina last week, so I searched through my collection of stamping plates for something similar to stamp over..

[Bottle to nail: Rimmel Orangina (2 coats)]
Again, Rimmel Orangina is an interesting coral-leaning orange creme polish which looks different in different lighting.

[Base: Rimmel Orangina (2 coats); Stamping: Hit the Bottle Snowed In;
Plate: Born Pretty BP-L015]
Using the simple daisy print from Born Pretty plate BP-L015, I stamped over Rimmel Orangina with
Hit the Bottle Snowed In, a white creme stamping polish.

[Base: Rimmel Orangina (2 coats); Stamping: Hit the Bottle Snowed In;
Plate: Born Pretty BP-L015]
So happy with the result, simple fuss-free and just a little retro. This combination lasted ages on the nail as well!
