Misty Caverns - Dance Legend Ashes to Ashes

I can't believe I haven't posted this before. It's from months ago!

[Dance Legend Ashes to Ashes]
This is Dance Legend Ashes to Ashes, a mid-gray creme polish with flakies and holo microglitter.

[Bottle to nail: Dance Legend Ashes to Ashes (2 coats)]
I've always said I loved their square bottles, makes it so easy to open.

[Dance Legend Ashes to Ashes]
You can see the ghostly flakies clearly and the second one was taken slightly blurry on purpose so you could see the holos better.

Overall, I love it. An interesting colour with many facets to the nail polish!

Glimmering Green - Dance Legend Step in Style Color LE01

I have such a gorgeous polish to show you today - the photos don't do this justice!

[Bottle to nail: Dance Legend Step in Style Color LE01 (2 coats)]
This is Dance Legend Step in Style Color LE01 - green jelly base with generous green and gold shimmer all throughout.

[2 coats: Dance Legend Step in Style Color LE01]
I used two coats for a beautiful even finish. This one has a slight tendency to flood the nail, so try to adjust the amount of polish on your brush to compensate. I'd recommend two thinner coats rather than one thick one although you could probably work with either.

[2 coats: Dance Legend Step in Style Color LE01]
In the bottle, there is a hint of blue in the base, but on the nails it's a vibrant christmas green and so gloriously sparkly! I think the jelly nature of the base just allows a depth of shimmer that you wouldn't other wise get.

[2 coats: Dance Legend Step in Style Color LE01]
I suspect a combination of a blue-tinted base (which is why my photos look blue-r) and the golden shimmer cancel out to get a nice neutral bright green in person. I just can't resist adding greens to my collection and this one is a real dazzler!

Fuzzy Fantasy - Emily de Molly Savvy Trinket

I have a super gorgeous polish to show you today. Funny story, I gifted this one to Jme thinking she'd like it... and she liked it so much it was already in her stash, so it came back to me~!

[Bottle to nail: Emily de Molly Savvy Trinket (2 coats)]
This is Savvy Trinket by Emily de Molly - an amazingly shiny purple foil absolutely chockers with gold-green-blue colour-shifting shimmer.

[2 coats: Emily de Molly Savvy Trinket]
As you can see I went a step further and added a layer of matte topcoat and I absolutely love the result! I haven't got photos of Savvy Trinket sans matte topcoat, but rest assured, it is the most beautifully shiny purple foil.

[2 coats: Emily de Molly Savvy Trinket]
Application was pretty perfect. This is two coats for full opacity, but you could do one thick coat if your nails are short like mine currently are. You can also do a single coat for a lovely translucent shell effect! It dries quickly and perfectly smooth and shiny. I didn't get any streak marks but I'm usually quite careful about that, though it seems like this polish self-levels quite well anyway.

[2 coats: Emily de Molly Savvy Trinket]
In case you can't already tell... I was super pleased with this! Even with the matte topcoat, you're getting a great shimmering effect that makes your nails look really glowy.

Myth Mash - Born Pretty Harunouta-L076, Hit the Bottle Blue-tiful, Sasatinnie #44 The Mermaid

Today I'm reviewing a stamping plate from Born Pretty.

[Harunouta-L076]
This is the Harunouta-L076 stamping plate provided for review by Born Pretty. As you can tell, it's a very Eastern-inspired plate with lots of designs featuring traditional flora and fauna.

[Bottle to nail: Sasatinnie Jewel Glaze #44 The Mermaid (2 coats)]
My base is from the previous post - Sasatinnie Jewel Glaze #44 The Mermaid, a blue creme textured polish wit blue, black and white microglitter and fine silver shimmer.

[Base: Sasatinnie Jewel Glaze #44 The Mermaid (2 coats);
Stamping: Hit the Bottle Blue-tiful; Plate: Harunouta-L076]
I then stamped a whole bunch of different designs from the plate using Hit the Bottle Blue-tiful, a blue shimmer stamping polish. Now can we take a moment to appreciate how well the designs transferred considering the fact that I was stamping onto textured polish (with a layer of topcoat granted!)! Look at the detail, especially on the peony (pinky finger) and fortune cat (index) designs.

[Base: Sasatinnie Jewel Glaze #44 The Mermaid (2 coats);
Stamping: Hit the Bottle Blue-tiful; Plate: Harunouta-L076]
This hand had less topcoat on the base, so a slightly more textured finish. While the speckles in the base colour make the design a bit harder to see, you can see how well the designs have transferred regardless. My favourites are the carp (index) and the peacock (thumb).

Bump In - Sasatinnie Jewel Glaze 44 The Mermaid

A quick one today, this one's a polish gifted to me by my blog buddy Jme!

[Bottle to nail: Sasatinnie Jewel Glaze #44 The Mermaid (2 coats)]
This is Sasatinnie Jewel Glaze #44 The Mermaid, a dusty blue creme with fine silver shimmer, and blue, black and white microglitter. It's also a textured polish which dries semi-matte.

[2 coats: Sasatinnie Jewel Glaze #44 The Mermaid]
I actually had no idea it was a textured polish! I thought it was just a regular creme glitter polish until it dried. Application was smooth and opaque in two coats. Dry time was also decent.

[2 coats: Sasatinnie Jewel Glaze #44 The Mermaid (with topcoat)]
I did put on a layer of topcoat which smoothed it out slightly but still retained a slight texture. I do like the combination of colours, but I'm not really a textured polish kinda gal, so I think the added topcoat suits me just fine!

Yee Haw - Born Pretty Western Memory L002, Born Pretty Dark Amor

Here's an unusual plate that was sent to us for review!

[Born Pretty Western Memory L002 Stamping Plate]
The above is Born Pretty's Western Memory L002, a Western themed stamping plate.

[Born Pretty Dark Amor

Here's how the packaging looks. I like this gold and white look that they've got going, rather pretty. The stamping nail polish is Born Pretty's Dark Amor which was also sent to us for review. I took it out of it's box for this photo so you could better see the colour.

[Base: Born Pretty Mystery
Stamping: Born Pretty Dark Amor stamping polish,
Born Pretty Western Memory L002 Stamping Plate]
Okay so... I clearly made a mistake choosing Born Pretty Mystery (a gift, which I reviewed previously here) to go with this stamping polish. I thought pink and red should go okay together, without taking into account that the holo does make the stamping pattern hard to see! Oops...?

I think you can sort of see that the index finger is a butterfly with a sword, the middle finger is a cowboy hat with flowers/vegetation in it, the ring finger is a gun with a rose, and the pinkie finger is a llama I think! Unusual, as I said!

I did try other patterns as well but they didn't look very good, mostly due to my own fault. The only other pattern that really turned out okay was this one:

[Base: Born Pretty Mystery
Stamping: Born Pretty Dark Amor stamping polish,
Born Pretty Western Memory L002 Stamping Plate]
If it isn't obvious, it's two cacti and the word SALOON across the bottom. What really impressed me about this one is how prettily the circles turned out, haha.

So first, let me talk about Dark Amor. It's a bright red creme stamping polish and it stamps beautifully. That is a great and easy to use stamping polish. Western Memory L002's patterns are very nicely etched to the stamping plate and I say this because I've had trouble with stamping plates in the past that aren't etched deeply enough. There's not issue with stamping when it comes to this one.

Most of the stamping issues I had was due to my mistake of choosing a red stamping polish to go with a pink holo base. The only real problem I had with Western Memory L002 as a stamping plate was how close and thick some of the patterns were and the size of some of the patterns.

I stamped some of the patterns on a white paper so you can see them better:

[Patterns from Born Pretty Dark Amor stamping polish and
Born Pretty Western Memory L002 Stamping Plate]
They did turn out quite well and easy to see against white, but you can see the size of some of these patterns are kind of big and wide. It was pretty hard to see what some of these patterns were on my narrow nails. Maybe if you have wider nails, they would be clearer. Also, the patterns being so thick and close together made them harder to see clearly as well.
