Space Bloom - OPI Cosmo With A Twist, Hit the Bottle Calypso Gold, Born Pretty HaruNoUta L034

Okie doke, here's a much more photo-intensive post than last week!

[Bloom my pretties..]
I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out, so read on to see what products I used...

[Bottle to nail: OPI Cosmo With A Twist (2 coats)]
My base shade from last week - OPI Cosmo With A Twist. A dark blurpley shade with heavy blue-purple shimmer. Such a lovely deep colour to contrast against a light stamp.

[Born Pretty HaruNoUta L034]
My stamping plate for the week was generously provided for review by Born Pretty. This one is the HaruNoUta plate L034 which is a floral themed plate. As always, it comes with a protective blue film, and a pretty cardboard sleeve for storage.

Stamping: Hit the Bottle Calypso Gold; Plate: Born Pretty HaruNoUta L034]
I stamped using Hit the Bottle Calypso Gold, which is a platinum gold shade. So gorgeous and easy to stamp with. Look how beautifully the designs picked up. The flowers are also large enough to do full nail stamps.

I included lots of photos as I used a different portion of the plate for each stamp. And it all looked great, I'm so happy with this plate!

Heartline - OPI Solitaire, Born Pretty's 3D nail stickers

What we've got here is easy to do pretty nail art!

[OPI Solitaire with nail stickers]
Alright, let's go!

[OPI Solitaire]
I started with a base, OPI's Solitaire from their Liquid Sand collection. It's a white textured matte polish with silver microglitter through it.

[3D Nail Stickers]
Then, I cut out and applied gold 3D nail stickers from Born Pretty, which you can find here. While you can see that the sticker I chose comes in three lines, I figured my nails aren't that wide so I only used two of the lines for each nail. The stickers are very interesting. I thought there would be a lot of transparent sticker but it's actually not. The sticker is quite literally only the gold lines and their blobs, making it quite hard to spot that it's a sticker at all.

I do like the final result. It looks rather classy with little effort.

Deep Space - OPI Cosmo With A Twist

I've had a bit of a break, and now I'm back!

[Bottle to nail: OPI Cosmo With A Twist (2 coats)]
Today's polish surprised me! This is OPI Cosmo With A Twist from the Starlight Holiday collection. I thought it would be one of those shades that are lovely in the bottle, but just too dark on the nail. Good thing I was proven wrong!

[2 coats: OPI Cosmo With A Twist]
It's still a dark shade but still has visible purple-blue shimmer throughout. This was two coats. I was a  bit worried as it seemed sheer at one coat, but the second coat fixed it all up. Dry time was good and the finish was quite smooth, although I applied topcoat as always.

What a pleasant surprise! I'm quite happy with this one!

Reflections at Twilight - Born Pretty Too Much Metals

What we've got here today is Born Pretty's Too Much Metals. Look at that chrome go! Er, ignore the short nail on my index finger, I broke it but I didn't want to cut my other nails that short.

[Born Pretty Too Much Metals]
Too Much Metals is from Born Pretty's Mirror Metallics Series. Too Much Metals is a chrome nail polish and comes with a very thick and wide brush. I could cover my entire pinky finger's nail with one swipe of the brush. I am pretty impressed by this nail polish. Look at the gleaming burnished metal look!

[Born Pretty Too Much Metals]
So, I think there is a reason the nail polish comes with a very wide brush. The less strokes you have to do with this nail polish, the smoother the result is. This nail polish is very interesting and I rather wish I took photos as I applied it. It's hard to explain but the nail polish has a tendency to draw close together. So at the first thin coat, it draws together in places which results in a patchy look.

That said, just keep going. Add another coat of nail polish, and then another. Try to use as few brush strokes as possible. The nail polish naturally fills in the gaps and smoothens itself out. It's fascinating how it does that. The nail polish on my middle finger wasn't very smooth at first. The way the brush had dragged the nail polish left a couple bumpy spots. But after 15 minutes or so, the nail polish seemed to smoothen itself out.

Funchsia - Emily de Molly LE89

This is Emily de Molly's LE89, and a gift from Ev!

[Emily de Molly LE89]
I have managed to break nails on both hands, quite badly too, so I'm gonna mainly photograph 3 nails only. I'm not going to cut down the other nails to match the one which had broke because the one that broke is just too short right now. It would hurt to get the others to match.

LE89 is a bright fuchsia with multi-coloured flakies.

[Emily de Molly LE89]
Quality is good; it applied smoothly and easily. All in all, a good nail polish that I think you could wear to work, and still have that edge of fun with the flakies.
