Weathered Metal - Dance Legend HammeRing Creep

I've been trying to work through my years-old untrieds... so the next few posts will mostly be me trying to clear through them!

[Bottle to nail: Dance Legend HammeRing Creep (1 coat)]
This one is an interesting one from the Dance Legend HammeRing collection. This collection features a hammered metal finish, which you can sort of see up above.

[1 coat: Dance Legend HammeRing Creep]
The shade I'm wearing is called Creep, and it's a steely blue chrome polish, opaque in one coat. It is slightly brush-strokey but the hammered finish actually hides it quite well. The effect shows up as the polish dries, and one coat is sufficient for this polish.

[1 coat: Dance Legend HammeRing Creep]
I'm not quite sure if I'm a fan or not! It's certainly very interesting, I even got some pitting-like effects so it really looks like old metal. However, from afar, the effect is not very clear so it sort of looks like a slightly uneven coat of polish! Perhaps I need to experiment a bit more to bring out the hammered finish to best effect...

Rainbows at Sea - Emily de Molly Vertical Control

I'm trying to work my way through my stash of untried nail polishes and I can't believe it took me so long to try this one.

[Bottle to nail: Emily de Molly Vertical Control]
This is Emily de Molly's Vertical Control, a holo teal nail polish. Like all of Emily de Molly's nail polishes, this one applies smoothly and is absolutely stunning. I've taken photos from several different angles for you to appreciate the full effect of the linear holo.

I'm glad I added this lovely to my collection, no matter how long ago it was. Great choice, past me!

Double Up - Born Pretty Holo Polish 21, Born Pretty BP-L020

Ah, what can I say... two holos are better than one!

[Go holo go!]
I've had some holographic stamping polishes from Hit the Bottle in my stash for ages but never got around to trying them out, so this is what I've done!

[Bottle to nail: Born Pretty Holo Polish #21 (2 coats)]
My base was a dark navy linear holographic - Born Pretty Holo Polish #21. So I figured a light stamp over the top would show up nicely over this shade.

This lovely silver holographic stamping polish is Hit the Bottle Holo there Beautiful! It was sooo easy to stamp with and easily picked up the intricate lace pattern from Born Pretty plate BP-L020.

The holographic sparkle also transferred perfectly, so I really have only good things to say about this (as with all other Hit the Bottle products that I've tried!). I'd love to try this out with longer nails, or perhaps a less intricate pattern as it's a bit hard to see the fine detail from afar.

Navy Spark - Born Pretty Holo Polish 21

The third holographic polish in a row!

[Bottle to nail: Born Pretty Holo Polish #21 (2 coats)]
This is Born Pretty Holo Polish #21 which is a dark blue linear holo. The photos make the base shade look a bit brighter than it actually is, it's definitely more a navy shade.

[2 coats: Born Pretty Holo Polish #21]
Some nice linear holographic sparkle in there! Formula was nice, thin and opaque in 2 coats on my relatively short nails.

[2 coats: Born Pretty Holo Polish #21]
These photos kinda make me wish I did have a medium blue linear holo! I don't think I have one yet... do I? =p

Totes Srs - Celestial Cosmetics Why So Sirius?

First a red holo last week, then a green one this week? Well.. it's turned October and the shops have already brought out all the Christmas gear so I guess I'm not jumping the gun... =p

[Bottle to nail: Celestial Cosmetics Why So Sirius? (2 coats)]
Today's polish is Why So Sirius? from Celestial Cosmetics. This is a lovely rich green polish, with faint scattered holographic particles, and a strong golden shimmer.

[2 coats: Celestial Cosmetics Why So Sirius?]
Great formula, opaque in two coats on my short nails here. The holo is not very obvious unless under very bright light, but still a beautiful shade, very rich and almost metallic-looking when applied!

[2 coats: Celestial Cosmetics Why So Sirius?]
What a stunner, I'll have to pull this out again at Christmas-time....!

[2 coats: Celestial Cosmetics Why So Sirius?]
I'm pretty happy to add this to my collection of greens, but now it's made me want to look for nice linear holographic green to add to my stash! I have so many dusty green holos, but a nice rich green one would be a great addition I reckon...

Royal Jewels - Emily de Molly Quest for Immortality

I felt like stocking up on purple nail polishes again, so I decided to give in!

[Royal Jewels]
This is Emily de Molly's Quest For Immortality, a gorgeous purple nail polish with a brighter blue to purple colour-shift and a scattering of red-leaning holo microglitter. Look how pretty it is!

[Bottle to nail: Emily de Molly Quest for Immortality]
The nail polish is opaque in two coats. Its holo is scattered but they catch the light brilliantly.

[Emily de Molly Quest for Immortality]
You can see it clearer in the last photo that Quest for Immortality has this beautiful blue to purple colour shift too.

What can I say except that I love the colour, and that I've got an even bigger hankering to get more purple polishes again!

Scarlet Supreme - Emily de Molly Wrong Side of Heaven

I have been really busy recently, with work and other things... so there'll be quite a few plain swatches coming up in the next few weeks.

[Bottle to nail: Emily de Molly Wrong Side of Heaven (2 coats)]
As I always do, my fallback is either red polishes or holographic ones... and this one is both!

[2 coats: Emily de Molly Wrong Side of Heaven]
This beauty is Emily de Molly Wrong Side of Heaven, a gorgeous true red with a fine linear holographic flame. The flame is not super obvious, but you can definitely see a bit of rainbow sparkle.

[2 coats: Emily de Molly Wrong Side of Heaven]
As with all Emily de Molly polishes, the formula is lovely. Thin and smooth, and opaque in two coats. I used my usual basecoat (Revlon Colorstay Gelsmooth) and didn't experience any staining. Bonus lovely glossy finish, although I topped off with topcoat anyway for longevity's sake.

[Direct lighting: Emily de Molly Wrong Side of Heaven (2 coats)]
Here's another photo with extra bright light off my mobile phone, just to show off the holo goodness!
