Rainbow Ice - Color Club Harp On It

I found this polish one day and realized I had forgotten how pretty this holographic nail polish is.

[Color Club Harp On It]
This is Color Club's Harp On It, a linear holographic that is just out of this world. How did I forget this one? It's like having rainbows on my nails! Harp On It is also opaque after two or three coats and it's easy to apply.

Orange Raspberry - LA Girl Color Addict Indulge, China Glaze Ahoy!

One of my friends very recently gifted me a few polishes to add to my pile, so I decided to use some of them in a mani together!

[Juiced up]
It turned out pretty juicy! A bit on the summery side, but probably a nice reminder of warmer days now that we're heading straight for colder weather.

[Bottle to nail: LA Girl Color Addict Indulge (2 coats)]
I started with a base of LA Girl Color Addict in Indulge, a super juicy orange with lots of gold shimmer. If you were really careful, you could possibly get this opaque in one coat. However, I think two thin ones work best.

[ 2 coats: LA Girl Color Addict Indulge]
Absolutely a dream to work with, nice even formula with lots of pigment. Quick dry time as well.

[Bottle to nail: China Glaze Ahoy!; Base: LA Girl Color Addict Indulge (2 coats)]
Over the tips, I then sponged on China Glaze Ahoy! from the Anchors Away collection, which is a blue-leaning pink with large flecks of gold shimmer all the way through.

[Base: LA Girl Color Addict Indulge (2 coats); Tips: China Glaze Ahoy!]
It's not a perfectly smooth gradient in photos, but it looks much more gradual from afar. I think the trick here is using the two polishes which both contain a gold shimmer.

It ended up being quite a subtle gradient but one I'm quite happy with!

Electric Night - Polish Me Silly Tropical Heat

Is it pink? Is it green? Who knows! Look at that colour shift go!

[Polish Me Silly's Tropical Heat]
This is Polish Me Silly's Tropical Heat layered over black. Tropical Heat is an opaque multichrome flakie in a clear base, which means it can be painted over lighter colours and retain its vibrant colours, instead of looking translucent.

Polish Me Silly's larger flakies have some of the best colour shifts ever, in my humble opinion. I think it's a combination of the size of the flakies and that the flakies are opaque. It makes for such a lovely and eye-catching polish with ever changing vibrant colours.

Full Speed Ahead - Dance Legend Pulsar

I think these pics are a bit old! This polish was one of my birthday pressies from Jme in 2014, wow!

[Bottle to nail: Dance Legend Pulsar (2-3 coats)]
Still gorgeous though! This one's Dance Legend Pulsar, a multichrome shimmer with scattered holo glitter for added bling.

[2-3 coats: Dance Legend Pulsar]
Not the best photos unfortunately, but this polish shifts from deep blurple to bronze-gold at the edges. Nice thin formula opaque in 2-3 coats depending on the length of your nails.

[2-3 coats: Dance Legend Pulsar]
As always, another lovely shade from Dance Legend - this one reminds me a bit of souped up cars with multichrome paint, hah!

Mermaid Scales - Dance Legend Fireworks

How I wish I had better photos! For some reason, none of them turned out well.

[Dance Legend Fireworks]
This is Dance Legend's Fireworks from the City Lights collection. Fireworks has blue-green iridescent square glitter and gold glitter in a light grape purple jelly polish. It is really pretty but I just did not manage to photograph it well.

[Dance Legend Fireworks]
I think Fireworks looks insanely pretty in the bottle. It's still pretty on the nails, but it's pretty stunning in the bottle. Fireworks has a great glitter pay off as most Dance Legend nail polishes do, and the jelly polish gives it a lovely depth. The bluey-greeny square glitter against this bright purple just reminds me of pretty, out of this world scales for some reason, hence the post title. :)

Broken Tooth - Savvy Carnivale, Konad m63

Sometimes, stamping doesn't go as you imagined...

[Mm..blah]
This is one of those times! I tried to take flattering pics but eh... not sure how much success I had!

[Bottle to nail: Savvy Carnivale (3 coats)]
I started out with a base of Savvy Carnivale, a glitter-packed polish that Jme has already reviewed (with lovely photos!) here.

[3 coats: Savvy Carnivale]
It's a nice mix of colours but I took three coats to get to opacity and wasn't a fan of the dry time or thickness, unfortunately.

[3 coats: Savvy Carnivale]
On the other hand, it wasn't too hard to get smooth!

[Base: Savvy Carnivale; Stamping: Konad plate m63]
So, in my head, I had an idea of a glitterbomb with a crisp black pattern over the top for some contrast. Unfortunately, it didn't work out as planned! I think the chaotic glitter, plus the fact that the silver glitter bits seem to reflect quite dark for some reason, ended up blurring the houndstooth design (from Konad plate m63). I thought it was pretty hard to make out what it was meant to be!

Anyway, a concept to try again another day!

Blast from the Past - Revlon Budding Chrome

Look at that chipped bottle! Does this count as a vintage look for nail polish bottles?

I picked this up in a bargain bin because I love Revlon chrome nail polishes. Before I started my nail polish craze, about the only nail polish I wore frequently was from this collection. Ah, innocent me, back in the days when I couldn't comprehend expensive nail polish or having more than five bottles!

[Revlon Budding Chrome]
This is Revlon Budding Chrome, which is a gorgeous, soft pink-silver chrome nail polish. Budding Chrome is from a rather old collection but the nail polish has withstood the tests of time. Application was smooth and easy with the expected dull chrome effect.

[Revlon Budding Chrome]
What an elegant and lovely nail polish. No top coat needed for this beauty! It dries relatively fast to a, well, chrome-like finish.

Scorching Savannah - China Glaze Goldie But Goodie, Sally Hansen Gilded Lily, Mundo de Unas Black, Bundle Monster BM-223

Time to jazz up the gold mani from last week!

[Mreoww]
With some tigerrrrrr strrrrriiipes! ROWR! Nothing better than a bold black to highlight a bright base...

[Base: China Glaze Goldie But Goodie (1-2 coats);
Topcoat: Sally Hansen Gilded Lily (1 coat)]
Quick recap of last week - A base of China Glaze Goldie But Goodie, topped off with Sally Hansen Gilded Lily for some gold flake goodness..

[Base: China Glaze Goldie But Goodie, Sally Hansen Gilded Lily;
Stamping: Mundo de Unas Black, Bundle Monster BM-223]
I then stamped with Mundo de Unas Black using Bundle Monster plate BM-223 with a tiger stripe design.

[Base: China Glaze Goldie But Goodie, Sally Hansen Gilded Lily;
Stamping: Mundo de Unas Black, Bundle Monster BM-223]
I am adoring these stamping polishes, so forgiving to use for an amateur like me. Topped it all off with topcoat and you're ready to roll!

[Base: China Glaze Goldie But Goodie, Sally Hansen Gilded Lily;
Stamping: Mundo de Unas Black, Bundle Monster BM-223]
This manicure lasted for over a week before I got impatient and removed it. At the rate these manis are lasting, I'm going to run out of things to post if I don't break out the remover!
